Jeff Viegas, owner of VIEGAS HOMES, has over 20 years experience in the home building industry. Jeff has been based in Charlotte since 1997, but the story began decades ago...
The VIEGAS HOMES legacy originated in Europe, where generations of the Viegas family were skilled craftsman building exquisite homes in northern Portugal. In 1968, Virgilio Viegas, Jeff's father, moved to New York where for over 25 years he continued his passion for wood working and framing homes, townhouse, apartments and commercial structures.
Jeff is continuing the family tradition of quality, skilled craftmanship in the Carolinas. VIEGAS HOMES is committed to service, client focused, and quality driven. A specialized approach to every project, regardless of size, insures superior craftsmanship is visibly present in every detail of construction.
When building a home in the Charlotte market you certainly have many choices, but what sets VIEGAS HOMES apart is that we started as actual carpenters. Jeff started framing houses when he was just 16 years old with his father in New York. He was taught the strength and quality of building begins with framing. It is what gives a structure support and shape. VIEGAS HOMES believes the quality of a custom home still begins with this structure. It is not just what the client can see in the finished product. It has to begin with the very first component and our experience insures just that...quality from the beginning to the end.
THE CUSTOM PROCESS
Viegas Homes' believes in a professional approach to building custom homes. We are professionals and skilled craftsmen who specialize in meeting the housing needs of other professionals. The term “Custom” is used very loosely in the business of home building. Jeff Viegas, owner of JVASCO and Viegas Homes, believes that clients building a Custom Home should get just that, a true “Custom Home”. At Viegas Homes, we define “Custom Home” as the following:
1. Client, Builder, and Architect/Engineer all meet together to layout and design a plan that specifically addresses your family’s desires. Our goal is to design exactly what you want, without exception.
2. Client and Builder meet during the design phase to determine the financial issues surrounding the project. Our goal is to construct a residence that meets the budget requirements that have been defined by you.
3. Client and Building Manager meet weekly and communicate regularly to discuss and, or modify any construction process.
4. Client has flexibility (if so desired) to select every finish in the entire house – we have no “Standards” (i.e. paint colors, flooring, exterior finishes, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, hardware, cabinets, electronics, appliances, windows, doors, etc.). Clients meet with our supplier’s professional design teams to choose exactly what they want in their home.
We are dedicated professionals who are committed to client satisfaction. We are also true framing craftsmen. Jeff Viegas has framed homes for over 20 years. He personally oversees our framing crews to frame your home from floor to roof, no subcontracting the wood structure of your home. We ARE builders. We don’t just oversee the construction of your home…WE BUILD YOUR HOME!
You will receive personalized attention and more time will be spent on your home with our approach, as compared to other builders.

4 Bedrooms ● 3.5 Baths ● Formal Dining Room ● Formal Living Room ● Kitchen with large island open to Family Room
A total remodel of a 1963 Colonial Style home in the heart of desirable Madison Park. We reconfigured the floor-plan of this home to give it a beautifully redesigned kitchen open to the family room, a large Master Suite with his and her walk-in closet and an addition of a half bath on the first floor. Existing hardwoods were refinished to bring out their traditional beauty, tiled flooring was added to guest baths and carpet added to upstairs bonus room/4th bedroom. Designer elements were added thru-out the home. Iced white quartz, white and gray shaker cabinets, gray glass backsplash, Moen plumbing fixtures, Stainless GE Profile appliances and a HUGE island to accommodate 4 bar stools completed the dream kitchen. Guest baths were updated with iced white quartz, gray shaker cabinets, new bathtubs with tile surrounds, and all new Moen plumbing fixtures. Upstairs a luxurious, spacious Maste Suite was created with heirloom gray quartz, white shaker cabinets, refinished hardwoods and large fully tiled shower. We didn't stop with the interior! Exterior renovations included new fiber cement siding, painted brick, new windows, covered porch with ceiling fan and privacy fence around the grand backyard. This renovation was truly remarkable and we hope the new owners love living in it as much as we loved bringing it back to life!
